St Patrick's Athletic - 0 Waterford - 1: Jimmy Fyffe made a terrific late penalty save to earn Waterford an unlikely point at Richmond Park last night. Fyffe dived full stretch to his right to push a Trevor Molloy spot kick out for a corner after Darren Young had handled in the area.
Waterford, with eight new signings in their starting 11, frustrated St Patrick's who didn't manage an effort on goal until the 33rd minute when Molloy's volley was headed away by Chris Deans.
The frustration continued for St Patrick's into the second half with Paul Keegan failing to connect with a super ball in from the left by Sean O'Connor.
The home team thought they had made the breakthrough on the hour, but ex-Blues man David Mulcahy's header from Stephen Brennan's free-kick was disallowed.
