NICKY RACKARD CUP: Longford hurlers cruised into the semi-finals with a strong second-half display which saw them register a 1-19 to 2-7 win over Louth at Pearse Park.

Seán Browne's goal just before the break left Longford holding a slender 1-6 to 1-5 lead but they looked in trouble when substitute Niall McEneaney scored another goal for Louth in the opening minute of the second half.

Longford, however, showed a lot of character to dominate the remainder of the game, firing over a total of 13 points.

TOMMY MURPHY CUP: Antrim romped to a handsome 1-23 to 1-8 victory over Kilkenny in yesterday's Tommy Murphy Cup tie at Casement Park, Belfast.

Antrim led by 1-11 to 1-6 at half-time, Kieran McGourty having grabbed an early goal with Dave Herity netting for Kilkenny. But the visitors were restricted to just two points in the second half as Antrim wielded total authority.

On Saturday, Declan Browne scored 10 points in Tipperary's 0-12 to 1-7 victory over Waterford in Dungarvan.
