OFFALY: John McIntyre has named Paudge Mulhare and Dáithi Regan as the two selectors to complete the Offaly senior hurling management team.

Mulhare, a member of the St Rynagh's club, played hurling and football for Offaly in the 1960s and '70s, and was a member of the Offaly hurling that reached the Leinster final in 1969. He was part of the management team for Offaly's All-Ireland successes in 1981, '85, '94 and '98.

Regan, from Birr, was an All-Ireland winner with Offaly in 1994 and was part of the Birr team of the last decade. In recent years he has managed Ballindereen (Galway) and Drumcullen (Offaly) hurlers.

GALWAY: The failure by Galway to convert underage success into All-Ireland senior glory, will be one of the main issues to be tackled by the new Galway hurling board secretary. John Fahey, from the St Thomas club, saw off the challenge of former county manager Jarlath Cloonan by 51-48. The closeness of the race indicated rifts still exist following the recent debacle where Mattie Murphy's ratification as senior team manager was turned down by delegates, before Conor Hayes was given a third year in charge.
