Paul Casey and Derek Murray are to be appointed joint managers of the Dublin women’s senior football team.

Both were members of Mick Bohan’s backroom team in recent years and will now step up to take the reins for 2025, with delegates expected to ratify their appointment at a specially convened online meeting of the Dublin LGFA County Board on Tuesday evening.

Casey, an All-Ireland winning footballer with Pat Gilroy’s Dublin in 2011, spent a decade in blue between 2002-2012. During his Dublin career he also won eight Leinster titles and was a Sigerson Cup winner with DCU in 2006.

The Lucan Sarsfields clubman has been a selector and defensive coach with the Dublin women’s team since 2018.

Murray, from Round Tower Clondalkin, has been part of the Dublin women’s management team since 2022. As a player, he won an All-Ireland under-21 title with Dublin in 2003 and also picked up three Leinster senior medals with the seniors between 2006-08.

Bohan stepped down as Dublin manager in November.

The new management team will begin their league campaign with a home fixture against Mayo on Sunday, January 26th in Parnell Park.
