TG4 will stream Saturday’s Allianz Hurling League clash between Cork and Limerick live after agreement was reached with the GAA following a request by the Irish language broadcaster to show the game.
The Cork-Limerick fixture will now be shown live on the TG4 Player, TG4 app and website with coverage beginning five minutes before the 7.30pm throw-in in at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
There had been growing frustration among hurling fans that the contest would not be shown live as TG4 and RTÉ had already committed to alternative fixtures.
TG4 are covering the football league clash between Donegal and Dublin from MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey at 7.30pm, while RTÉ are televising Kieran McGeeney’s Armagh against Tyrone from the Athletic Grounds at 6pm.

TG4 to stream Cork v Limerick league clash on Saturday after GAA give green light
Clare and Cork to open Munster hurling championship in repeat of All-Ireland final
RTÉ had initially requested to show the Cork-Limerick game, but as they are contractually prohibited from directly going up against the live TG4 match on Saturday evenings, it would have required an earlier throw-in time.
However, Cork were against moving the fixture to an earlier slot as it would then clash with the Six Nations opener between Ireland and England at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday at 4.45pm.
But as reported in The Irish Times on Tuesday, TG4 had made a late bid to stream the Cork-Limerick match and GAA officials have now given them the green light to do so.
The Leeside clash is set to attract approximately 30,000 spectators. Both stands are already sold out with only terrace tickets remaining on general sale.
Separately, the GAA has confirmed the dates for five first round fixtures which were cancelled last weekend due to Storm Éowyn.
In Division 1 of the football league, Kerry will now play Donegal in Fitzgerald Stadium on Saturday, February 8th, throwing-in at 2.30pm. At the same time, Leitrim will play Laois in Division 3 in Ballinamore and Wicklow will host Waterford in Aughrim in Division 4.
In the hurling league, Cavan go to MacHale Park on Saturday, February 15th to face Mayo in Division 3 (throw-in, 1.30pm), and on February 16th, Westmeath play Laois in Division 2 at Cusack Park in Mullingar (throw-in, 2.30pm).
