That’s it from me for today, thanks for joining us for what was an extraordinary day of action and drama in the Allianz Leagues. The chaotic, madcap finish to the early game at Celtic Park will take some topping all season - two late goals snatching victory for Jack O’Connor’s Kerry against Derry. And then we had Shane Walsh’s kicking masterclass as Galway demonstrated the benefit of kicking two-pointers to chalk up a comfortable win over Mayo. In between it all, the Carlow hurlers pulled off the shock of the day with a win over Waterford.
We will have more news, insights and reaction to today’s events on www.irishtimes.com over the coming hours and also in tomorrow’s newspaper.
Thanks again for your company today. I’m off outside to practice my two-pointers!
David Mohan has put together a wrap of Division 1B in the Allianz Hurling League - which includes details on that standout Carlow victory over Waterford.
The last of Sunday’s Allianz League games has just finished, with the Offaly footballers getting the better of neighbours Laois in Division Three, 2-19 to 1-17.
There were two significant games in Division One of the women’s Lidl National Football League today as well.
Kildare caused a shock beating Dublin 1-8 to 0-8 while reigning league champions Armagh were too strong for Tyrone, 0-16 to 0-5. Here is a round-up of all today’s league action in the women’s game.
**
Holders Armagh made it two wins from two in Division One of the Lidl National Football League on Sunday.
The Orchard County followed up their opening day victory over TG4 All-Ireland senior champions Kerry by getting the better of Ulster rivals Tyrone with a strong second-half performance in Lurgan to win by 0-16 to 0-5.
Tyrone started well and opened up a lead of 0-4 to 0-1 after 17 minutes but Armagh finished the half strongly and the sides were deadlocked at 0-5 apiece at the break.
Armagh then took control and dominated the game after the restart, holding Tyrone scoreless for the duration of the second-half while landing 0-11 themselves in a strong performance.
Meanwhile, there was another provincial derby on Sunday, where Leinster pair Kildare and Dublin met at Manguard Park.
And it was Kildare who secured the spoils on a 1-8 to 0-8 scoreline to get their first win of the campaign after going down to Waterford in the opening round.
The key score of the game came after ten minutes when Kildare’s Alannah Prizeman got the only goal of the match which helped them lead by 1-5 to 0-7 at the interval.
Dublin, hoping to build on their opening win over Mayo, battled back after the restart but Kildare were not to be denied.
In Division Two, promotion favourites Galway and Cork went head to head in Tuam, and it was Galway who came out on top by 2-8 to 0-12 in the battle between two sides who were relegated from the top flight last year. Leanne Coen and Róisín Leonard got the goals for Galway, while Katie Quirke landed 0-9 for Cork.
Elsewhere in the second tier on Sunday, there were victories for Roscommon and Monaghan, while Westmeath and Donegal drew.
Two goals from Aishling Hanly and one from Laura Mannion helped Roscommon on their way to a 3-13 to 0-8 win over Clare. A late Emma Morrissey goal was not enough to save Tipperary as Éabha Sherry hit the winning point for Monaghan in their 0-10 to 1-6 win.
Donegal led Westmeath by 0-4 to 0-1 at the interval but a goal from Anna Jones got Westmeath back in contention in a game which finished 1-6 to 0-9.
In Division Three, Cavan, Carlow, Louth and Wexford notched up wins, while Sligo, Leitrim and Antrim were triumphant in Division Four, as Wicklow got the better of Kilkenny on Saturday.

Full-time in Thurles. The Premier County win by six. Tipperary 1-22 Wexford 0-19.
A goal from Darragh McCarthy has pushed Tipp clear and it seems the home side will hold out for their second victory of the campaign. With just over five minutes remaining, Tipperary lead Wexford 1-19 to 0-14.
Tipp and Wexford are keeping each other honest in Thurles. With 53 minutes gone, Tipperary lead 0-16 to 0-12 in their Division 1A clash. The Premier County led 0-12 to 0-8 at half-time.
But it looks like the result of the day was achieved by the Carlow hurlers who beat Waterford. What a victory for the Barrowsiders.
The Allianz Hurling League clash between Tipperary and Wexford is ongoing, the Division 1A fixture had late throw-in. With 45 minutes gone, Tipp lead 0-14 to 0-11.
And the details are in from Newry on Down’s narrow victory over Cork.

Stick with us here, there is still league action taking place and we will have match reports and reaction from across the country. It has been a good day for Galway - wins in football and hurling.
Shane Walsh after his outstanding display in Galway’s win today.
FULL-TIME: Galway 0-26 Mayo 0-16
70mins: Mayo 0-16 Galway 0-26
Davitt Neary with a point just before the hooter goes. Comfortable win for Galway in the end. Very strong second-half display by the Tribesmen.
68mins: Mayo 0-15 Galway 0-26
Paul Conroy pops over a point for Galway.
67mins: Mayo 0-15 Galway 0-25
Paul Towey with a point for Mayo. Meanwhile, Shane Walsh has been subbed off. What a display of kicking he delivered today. Superb.
66mins: Mayo 0-14 Galway 0-25
Rob Finnerty free. Stephen Coen has been sent off on a second yellow card for Mayo. This game is done.
64mins: Mayo 0-14 Galway 0-24
Ryan O’Donoghue free.
63mins: Mayo 0-13 Galway 0-24
Exhibition stuff from Shane Walsh. He kicks another two-pointer from outside the arc. This is like a kicking clinic, the Tribesmen showing the power that can be gained from using the new rules. It helps of course to have a player like Walsh in your dressing-room.
61mins: Mayo 0-13 Galway 0-22
Ryan O’Donoghue point for Mayo.
58mins: Mayo 0-12 Galway 0-22
Relief in Mayo as Galway take on a one point effort, Rob Finnerty scoring a free. For a while there, it appeared the Tribesmen had forgotten they were still allowed to score from inside the arc.
58mins: Mayo 0-12 Galway 0-21
Make them stop, they are just showing off now. Cillian Ó Curraoin with, yes, another two point score for Galway.
56mins: Mayo 0-12 Galway 0-19
Davitt Neary with a point for Mayo.
54mins: Mayo 0-11 Galway 0-19
Cillian Ó Curraoin with another Galway two-pointer. This time the chance was gifted to the visitors after Mayo breached the three up rule, which led to a Galway free. Galway opted to bring the ball back outside the arc - and kicked over for two points rather than settle for one. These two-pointers look like they will be the difference in the outcome.
52mins: Mayo 0-11 Galway 0-17
Ryan O’Donoghue taps over a close range free.
50mins: Mayo 0-10 Galway 0-17
A two-pointer from Galway. Have a guess who kicked it? Yep, Shane Walsh again. He kicked this from way outside the arc - and the ball was still travelling as it sailed over the bar. What a kick.
45mins: Mayo 0-10 Galway 0-15
Davitt Neary opens Mayo’s second-half account but then Shane Walsh sends over another two pointer. The Tribesmen must have spent the week kicking from outside the arc - that’s another big score.
39mins: Mayo 0-9 Galway 0-13
Cillian Ó Curraoin floats over a two-pointer from a free outside the arc. That’s a pair of two-pointers by Galway in the early stages of this second half, it makes quite the dent on the score.
39mins: Mayo 0-9 Galway 0-11
Cillian Ó Curraoin extends Galway’s advantage. Mayo yet to score in this second half, but fair to say that the game hasn’t really caught fire yet. Compared to the action in Celtic Park earlier, this hasn’t the same bite as of yet.
36mins: Mayo 0-9 Galway 0-10
Shane Walsh starts the second half with a peach of a two-pointer. A lovely score by Walsh puts Galway back in front immediately after the restart.
In the Allianz Hurling League, Galway have posted a good win over Kilkenny.
Some scores from Division Two of the NFL
Meath lead Cavan 2-20 to 0-17 with about five minutes remaining
Roscommon are 0-14 to 0-11 ahead of Louth in the closing stages.
Monaghan lead Westmeath 1-26 to 2-16 with about five minutes left.
Paul Towey’s score that gives Mayo the lead at the interval.
HALF-TIME: MAYO 0-9 GALWAY 0-8
34mins: Mayo 0-9 Galway 0-8
Mayo edge back in front thanks to another Paul Towey point.
32mins: Mayo 0-8 Galway 0-8
Seán Kelly fists over after a strong run through the Mayo defence. Kelly is such a good ball carrier.
29mins: Mayo 0-8 Galway 0-7
Mayo hit the front - scores by Paul Towey and Frank Irwin give Kevin McStay’s men the lead.
26mins: Mayo 0-5 Galway 0-7
Two points on the bounce now for Mayo. They have wind in their sails right now. Conor Reid reduces the gap to two.
25mins: Mayo 0-4 Galway 0-7
Paul Towey drops a lovely effort just over the Galway crossbar.
19mins: Mayo 0-3 Galway 0-7
Frank Irwin pulls a point back for Mayo and the home side thought they had reduced the gap further when Davitt Neary pointed, but it seems they had broken the three up rule and the score was cancelled out, and instead Galway were awarded a free in front of the posts, which they scored.
16mins: Mayo 0-2 Galway 0-6
Paul Conroy makes it a four point game.
14mins: Mayo 0-2 Galway 0-5
Dylan McHugh extends Galway’s advantage.
10mins: Mayo 0-2 Galway 0-4
Strong start by Galway. Shane Walsh, Conor Gleeson, Paul Conroy and Seán Kelly all on target early for the Tribesmen.
Big result for London in Ruislip. London beat Wicklow 1-20 to 0-21.
We will have Seán Moran’s report from Celtic Park shortly and post it as soon as it arrives. Chaotic ending in Derry. But for now we turn our attention to Castlebar where Mayo and Galway are meeting.
And then Paul Geaney wins it for the Kingdom.
Here are those dramatic late goals from Celtic Park....first Donal O’Sullivan brings Kerry level.
Going by the TG4 clock on the screen, the gap between Kerry’s fourth and fifth goals was just 23 seconds. Not sure I’ve ever seen such rapid goals at this level.
Derry led by five points after Shane McGuigan’s free with four minutes of the game left.
Paul Geaney scored a goal for Kerry. Two point game.
McGuigan replies with a point from play. Three point game. Two minutes remaining.
Donal O’Sullivan palms home a Kerry goal after a mistake in the Derry defence leaves them open at the back. Level game. One minute remaining.
Paul Geaney gets on the end of another move after Kerry take possession, the experienced Kingdom forward showing great composure to strike home a match-winning goal. Some impact by Geaney - two goals in the dying minutes.
Wow. From nowhere, Kerry snatch victory at Celtic Park.
Wow, wow, wow. What drama in the final few seconds. Derry led by three points with two minutes remaining. Okay, let’s go through that final frantic moments. Two Kerry goals in a minute - what happened the Derry defence? They seemed to just melt away.
FULL-TIME: KERRY 5-15 DERRY 1-24
69mins: Derry 1-24 Kerry 5-15
TWO GOALS for Kerry inside a minute. Incredible.
68mins: Derry 1-24 Kerry 3-15
A beautiful score by Shane McGuigan makes it a three-point game again.
65mins: Derry 1-23 Kerry 3-15
GOAL for Kerry. Super work and finish by Paul Geaney. Real skill and leadership. Game back on, it seems.
65mins: Derry 1-23 Kerry 2-15
Lachlan Murray and Shane McGuigan add points to push Derry five clear. What a spell for the Oaf Leafers.
63mins: Derry 1-21 Kerry 2-15
GOAL for Derry. Shane McGuigan raises the green flag for the home side. What a response. And what a blow to Kerry’s gallop. Derry lead by three now.
62mins: Derry 0-21 Kerry 2-15
It’s level. Donal O’Sullivan again - a great score from the Kerry forward to make it all square at Celtic Park. How will Derry respond?
61mins: Derry 0-21 Kerry 2-14
Kerry reduce the gap to the minimum - good score from Donal O’Sullivan. Big finish now.
60mins: Derry 0-21 Kerry 2-13
Seán O’Shea from play. It’s point for point now.
59mins: Derry 0-21 Kerry 2-12
Niall Toner taps over a close range free for Derry.
58mins: Derry 0-20 Kerry 2-12
The sides swap points. Brendan Rogers at one end for Derry before Diarmuid O’Connor replies at the other end for Kerry. Two between the sides as we approach the last ten minutes, it’s in the mixer.
55mins: Derry 0-19 Kerry 2-11
The contentious two point free from outside the arc comes to Kerry’s aid. Seán O’Shea sends it high and accurately over the Derry crossbar.
53mins: Derry 0-19 Kerry 2-9
Another goal chance for Derry, again the shot blazes just over the Kerry crossbar from Ethan Doherty.
53mins: Derry 0-18 Kerry 2-9
Seán O’Brien with a point for Kerry.
51mins: Derry 0-18 Kerry 2-8
Goal chance for Derry on the break, but Ethan Doherty fizzes his shot just over the crossbar.
49mins: Derry 0-17 Kerry 2-8
Dylan Geaney with a two-pointer for Kerry.
48mins: Derry 0-17 Kerry 2-6
Donncha Gilmore with a point for Derry. The home side lead by five.
43mins: Derry 0-16 Kerry 2-6
Finally Kerry have got the scoreboard moving again. Conor Geaney curls over their first point of the second half.
40mins: Derry 0-16 Kerry 2-5
Conor Glass sends a 45 sailing between the Kerry posts. The visitors have not scored since their second goal, which was late in the first half. That goal made it 2-5 to 0-8. Derry have now registered eight points without reply.
38mins: Derry 0-15 Kerry 2-5
Derry extend their lead with another points - this time it’s Paul Cassidy. Paudie Clifford gets the ball down the other end of the field and registers a wide. Kerry need to halt Derry’s momentum here.
And Kerry’s second.....
36mins: Derry 0-14 Kerry 2-5
The second-half has started at Celtic Park and the home side continue where they left off at the end of the first - by popping over a point. Conor Glass scores this one for Derry.
Here is Kerry’s opening goal of the game.
Today’s game sees Paddy Tally go up against a team he coached as recently as last season. Tally’s first game as Derry manager was against his native Tyrone. Next week he goes up against Galway, a team he also coached previously. Here’s a piece on the highly-rated Galbally man.
There was also a 12.30 throw-in for London’s Division Four Football clash with Wicklow in Ruislip.
At the break Wicklow lead by a point.
Half-time: Wicklow 0-10 London 1-6
HALF-TIME: Derry 0-13 Kerry 2-5
35mins: Derry 0-13 Kerry 2-5
Donncha Gilmore kicks over a mark just as the half-time hooter sounds. Derry have really turned the game around in the last five minutes of the opening half.
33mins: Derry 0-12 Kerry 2-5
What a response to Kerry’s second goal this has been from Derry. The home side have not only cancelled out the goal but Derry have pushed in front again after two quick points from Niall Toner and Diarmuid Baker. Baker’s point came after a stunning fetch from Anton Tohill in the middle of the field. It was a real wow moment.
30mins: Derry 0-10 Kerry 2-5
Ben McCarron with a good response from Derry. McCarron drills over from long range to post Derry’s second two-pointer of the afternoon. A lovely score.
27mins: Derry 0-8 Kerry 2-5
GOAL for Kerry. The Kingdom net a second goal in this opening half. Conor Geaney again! This time he palms the ball home from close range after Kerry sliced through the Derry defence. Some quick hands caught Derry out but Paddy Tally will be disappointed by the defending in allowing Kerry through so easily.
23mins: Derry 0-8 Kerry 1-5
Niall Toner scores his second of the contest.
23mins: Derry 0-7 Kerry 1-5
Seán O’Shea pops over a free - a sentence you have read before and will again.

Conor Geaney adds to his early goal with a nice point from play. Kerry lead by one after quarter of an hour at Celtic Park.
13mins: Derry 0-5 Kerry 1-2

9mins: Derry 0-4 Kerry 1-1

7mins: Derry 0-3 Kerry 1-1
Seán O’Shea adds a free for the visitors. Lively start in Derry.

1mins: Derry 0-1 Kerry 0-0
Shane McGuigan opens the scoring with an early point for Derry.

Almost set to go at Celtic Park for the early throw-in for Derry v Kerry. The 12.30 start is to facilitate the Bloody Sunday commemorations in the city.
Denis Walsh was at Páirc Uí Chaoimh for Cork v Limerick:
‘It ended in a tizzy. Cork had drummed up a head of steam, Limerick were digging in, everyone was up in arms with the referee, the crowd were up and down out of their saturated seats, there were bodies falling everywhere, the ball was darting in all directions, usually out of control, and in the 10th minute of stoppage-time Darragh Fitzgibbon levelled the game for the last time with a free from 45 metres out. Seconds later, the chaos ended.’
Here is our match report as All-Ireland champions Armagh beat neighbours Tyrone last night.

One of the stories emerging from last night was the news Michael Fitzsimons is unlikely to return for Dublin this year. While not entirely unexpected, it is yet another link in the Dublin chain falling off.

Good morning and welcome to our live blog of today’s Allianz League action. We have an early start today because of the 12.30 throw-in for Derry v Kerry at Celtic Park.
It’s Gordon Manning here, I’ll be with you all afternoon keeping you updated on the latest scores, stories and any other GAA developments from across the country.
Our intrepid squadron of reporters have been cast to various corners of the island to cover matches today so we’ll also be bringing you their pieces throughout the afternoon.
I, meanwhile, have been cast to my couch to watch wall to wall sport on tv for the entire day – it’s kind of like being back in college again, to be honest!
