Armagh enjoyed a seven point victory over Fermanagh in the Ulster U-21 FC preliminary tie last night.

Two second-half goals in Brewster Park from the impressive Jemar Hall and Ethan Rafferty ensured Armagh progressed to a quarter-final tie with Down next week.

Fermanagh started brightly but Armagh began to assert their control midway through the first-half and scored five unanswered points in a 10 minute spell. Niall McConville scored three of those points.

Fermanagh captain Conal Jones ended a 14 minute scoring drought for his team who trailed 0-7 to 0-4 at half-time.

The game was over as a contest two minutes into the second-half when Rafferty scored a goal for Armagh. Another lapse in concentration in the Fermanagh defence allowed Hall to ghost in for Armagh’s second goal after 42 minutes.
