Clare minors hang on to edge past Limerick and set up Kerry clash

Clare full-forward Joseph McGann stepped up in the dying minutes to kick the winner

Limerick 1-5 Clare 0-9

Clare emerged with the slenderest of wins over Limerick at Miltown Malbay on Wednesday and will now face Kerry in the semi-final on May 11th. The hosts lead by 0-6 to 1-1 at the break having enjoyed the aid of a strong first half breeze. They lead by 0-4 no nil by the 17th but Limerick pulled back a goal through James Ryan in the twenty-forth.

Limerick did take the lead in the second period when Adam Storan pointed. But Clare pulled back a pair of points to regain the advantage. With the sides level with two minutes on the clock, up stepped Clare full-forward Joseph McGann to hit the winner.
