Kerry footballer Declan O’Sullivan has retired from the sport due to injury.

The 31-year-old retired from the inter county game last year but planned to continue playing for his club, Dromid Pearses.

However, after an operation this morning he tweeted that he would be calling time on his career.

O’Sullivan captained Kerry to All-Ireland glory on two occasions (2007 and 2008) and has five All-Ireland titles and three All Stars to his name.
