Kilcoo 0-9 Burren 0-7: Kilcoo retained their Down county title by seeing off Burren in Newry on Sunday.

Three stoppage time points saw Jim McCorry’s men get the better of their closest rivals at Páirc Esler in what was a drab affair for the most part.

Burren went in front in the fourth minute through James McGovern before Kilcoo went three points to one up a minute after the quarter hour lthrough Paul Devlin (free), Donal O’Hare and before Kilcoo’s Ryan Johnston slotted the ball over the bar. Conor Laverty tied it at three points apiece three minutes before half-time before Paul Devlin gave the Magpies a 0-4 to 0-3 interval lead with a close range free.

Kilcoo extended their lead to two with a Devlin 45 seven minutes after the restart but Burren hit three unanswered points from Donal O’Hare, Conal McGovern and Kevin McKernan to edge in front by the 47th minute .

Laverty hooked over the bar with eight minutes to go but it was Burren who got their noses in front with two minutes remaining when Jamie McGovern fisted over his second point of the day.

After Burren's Dan McCartan was sent off for two yellows in the final minute of normal time, Darragh O'Hanlon blasted over a superb 50-metre free in the first minute of added time. Devlin kept cool under pressure to convert another free before he then scored from play to seal the win.
