Tipperary 1-14 Limerick 1-2

Peter Creedon's Tipperary put their Armagh heartbreak behind them to register their first points in Division Three of the Allianz Football League on Sunday.

They suffered an agonising one-point defeat in their opening fixture, after which Creedon launched a scathing attack on match referee David Goldrick.

But Tipperary regrouped to whip hapless Limerick by 12 points in foggy Thurles yesterday. During the second half in particular, visibility was so poor that 513 supporters seated in the New Stand were informed of the score on intermittent occasions via the public address system.

Creedon later insisted that he wasn't "overtly pleased" with his side's display – despite the comfortable nature of the victory on a day when eight players registered scores, including goalkeeper Evan Comerford.

Creedon said: “We weren’t overtly pleased with how we were playing, we were slow at times but look, it was probably hard to recover after last weekend. That was a tough weekend.”

There was a real gulf in class between the Munster rivals as Tipp were 0-8 to 0-0 clear at half-time against a Limerick side that registered seven first half wides.

But the Shannonsiders hinted at a revival when Iain Corbett finally broke their duck in the 45th minute, before Seanie Buckley rammed home a penalty goal.

Tipp hit back with Ian Fahy blasting home a 49th minute goal to finish off a flowing team move.
