Tipperary 2-12

David Power’s Wexford came from eight points down to claim just their second league victory of the season.

Already-relegated Wexford showed real character to overturn an eight-point half-time deficit, as Kevin O’Grady netted 39 seconds after half-time before Ciarán Lyng scored a brilliant second goal, lobbing Colum Nugent from a free.

First-half goals from Peter Acheson and George Hannigan had Tipp in the driving seat but Barry Grogan slammed a penalty off the crossbar just before half-time.

This was a morale-boosting victory for Power, who managed Tipperary to All-Ireland minor glory in 2011.
