It’s hard to categorise Galway’s season to date but then their championships have never been conspicuously influenced by what they do in the spring. The old question marks over the spine of the team remain but in an uncertain landscape a good year shouldn’t surprise anyone – but then again neither should a bad one.

Last good day: Coming within a whisker of winning the 2012 All-Ireland.
