Cuala qualified for their first final in three years after defeating Ballyboden St Enda’s by in their Dublin Senior Hurling Championship semi-final at Parnell Park on Sunday afternoon.
David Treacy was in sublime form from placed balls for the winners as he struck nine first-half points with Paul Ryan’s tally of six trimming Boden’s arrears to 0-14 to 0-9 by the interval.
Ryan was almost single-handedly keeping St Enda’s in contention with three early second-half points but Sean Moran’s contribution from wing-back for Cuala was equally key as he fired over a brace of excellent points.
Ryan’s brilliance, that saw him accrue 1-17 of his team’s tally, ultimately proved in vain with Cuala holding out for a deserved three point win.
Earlier in the day, Lucan Sarsfields impressed from the outset when comfortably defeating O’Toole’s by 3-18 to 1-5 in their quarter-final replay.
Most of the damage was done in the first-half as Kevin Fitzgerald, Eoghan Ó Conghaile and Sean McClelland all netting with Kevin O’Reilly accruing eleven points over the hour for Lucan.
