Holders Kilcormac-Killoughey see off Camross to ease into Leinster semi-final

Scoring burst in third quarter burns off the Laois men’s challenge

Kilcormac/Killoughey 1-18 Camross 1-10

Reigning provincial champions Kilcormac-Killoughey are through to another semi-final after an impressive second -half performance.

Camross were impressive early on and they led 0-6 to 0-3 at the end of the first quarter thanks to great scores from Ciaran and Matthew Collier and Zane Keenan (two).

Kilormac drew level thanks to points by Peter Geraghty and Ciaran Slevin and Dan Currams and then edged in front for the first time with scores from Conor Mahon and Peter Geraghty to lead at the interval 0-10 to 0-8.

On the restart the Offaly champions fired over five great points in a row and James Gorman flicked home a goal after 46 minutes.

Zane Keenan opened the Camross second-half account and the Laois side never gave up. Tomas Burke got a Camross goal with five minutes remaining but late points by Peter Geraghty and Conor Slevin saw the champions earn a semi-final meeting with Oulart-the Ballagh of Wexford, the team they beat to win their first title last year.
