WATERFORD 1T 5-19 ST PATRICK'S MATER-DEI 1-6

Waterford IT got their Group A campaign back on track with a ruthlessly efficient 25-point victory over St Patrick's-Mater Dei at Alfie Byrne Park.

With just seven minutes gone on the clock, WIT had already raised three green flags courtesy of clinical close-range finishes by Liam McGrath of Tipperary, full forward Jake Dillon and Gavin O’Brien.

Colm Bonnar’s supremely-fit outfit subsequently added points through current Kilkenny netminder Eoin Murphy (who lined out in the half-forward line) and the energetic Dillon, before a shell-shocked Pat’s finally opened their account via a fine long-range effort by Jack McGrath.
