Castletowngeoghegan, trailing 2-7 to 0-9 at half-time, came back into it when Ronan Whelan swept a 38th-minute penalty to the net, and Pat Clarke's point put the losers ahead for the first time. In four minutes of injury-time, however, the Gaels spoiled the party with Daniel Carty firing past John Jackson and John Kennedy sealed the issue with his second goal in the 64th minute.
