SECTION C: The Gallagher cousins Raymond, with a 29th-minute goal and Rory, with three second-half points, featured prominently in this Dr McKenna Cup victory for Fermanagh at Brewster Park.
At half time Monaghan led by 1-4 to 1-2, their goal coming directly from a '45 when Rory Woods' shot eluded the grasp of Fermanagh full back Shane McDermott.
After the break All Star nominee Eamonn Maguire's chipped goal 10 minutes into the second half lifted the game. It gave Fermanagh a 2-4 to 1-4 lead which they held until seven minutes from time when Monaghan drew level, Gary McQuaid and Woods combining to set up Dick Clerkin for the goal. Fermanagh, however, were not to be outdone, Rory Gallagher and Aidan Little (two) getting the concluding points.
