THE APPEAL of Kerry’s Paul Galvin against an eight-week suspension has been adjourned by Croke Park’s Central Appeals Committee.
The current footballer of the year picked up the ban after receiving a red card in the recent NFL match against Cork.
As it was his second such offence in less than a year the minimum four-week suspension was doubled by the Central Hearings Committee.
Galvin’s appeal was heard on Thursday but adjourned.
The verdict is now expected in the next few days although Kerry aren’t in action until next weekend when they face Derry in a repeat of last season’s NFL final.
Meanwhile, the NFL Fair Play Index sees Kilkenny and Laois continue to top the table although neither have had a great start to the season.
In third place are Limerick, who currently top Division Four.
Carlow and Tyrone occupy the bottom two places.
In the NHL, Cork are top with no yellow or red cards so far after one match.
Kerry are bottom after picking up eight yellow cards in the county’s first match last weekend against Derry.
