The scoring skills of Niall Finnegan and John Donnellan paved the way for Galway's narrow win over Sligo at Enniscrone. The visitors did not produce the fireworks that demolished Leitrim the previous week, but led 0-5 to 0-2 at half-time.

The home side tried hard in the second half but the more experienced Galwaymen held on.
