LEAGUE OF IRELAND PLAY-OFFS: Galway United 1 Bray Wanderers 0:GALWAY UNITED'S season ended with a win that preserves their top-flight status at Terryland Park last night.
The home side hit the front in the 16th minute after Derek O’Brien was denied by a Matt Gregg save, but Karl Sheppard swept the rebound home.
Galway were unfortunate not to grab a second in the 66th minute, but Sheppard was flagged for offside after racing clear. Bray were reduced to 10 men eight minutes from time when Adam Mitchell was dismissed for a foul on Sheppard and Galway had Derek O’Brien sent off late on.
