Some astute half-time switches, which saw Ryan McNaughton introduced to the game at centre-half back and his cousin, Ruairi McNaughton, moved to full forward, paid dividends for Antrim in Saturday's Ulster under-21 HC final in Casement Park.Antrim were two goals adrift at half-time (0-7 to 2-7) Antrim rarely after failing to impress in the opening half. Derry corner forward Gary Biggs scored the opening goal after 12 minutes, while the Banagher youngster also had a hand in the county's second goal, scored by Danny McGrellis, which arrived three minutes before half-time. Significantly, the Derry full forward line claimed 2-5 of their team's total.At this stage there seemed no stopping Derry and Antrim's hopes were not helped by a number of good saves by Derry goalkeeper Ciaran Stevenson.Antrim gradually pulled their way back, however, Ruairi McNaughton - once he switched to full forward - claiming three points at his new full-forward posting.The sides were locked on three occasions over the final, pulsating 10 minutes. No decision has yet been announced for the replay.
