Connacht JC Final Garbally 20 Coláiste Iognáid 12Garbally College captured their 41st Connacht Junior Cup title when tries at the start and end of the opening half secured victory.

Tom Callaghan gave the Ballinasloe side a perfect start with a try in the first minute and the boot of skipper Eanna Tiernan added a conversion and a brace of penalties.

Coláiste Iognáid responded with a 12th minute try from full-back Tommy Bradshaw, but Garbally struck again before the interval when outhalf Tiernan O'Halloran touched down under the posts. Coláiste Iognáid winger Conor Murphy reduced the deficit with a try but Garbally, strong in defence, held out.
