With the sort of invasion from the US Tour that normally only takes place for the British Open, this week's TPC of Europe event at Heidelberg can truly claim to have arrived as one of the most prestigious titles on the European Tour.
Indeed, the likes of Tiger Woods - who heads the beating at 6 to 1 - can expect to find the course very much to his liking because ecological restrictions in Germany deter the use of fertilisers and, so, the rough doesn't tend to be as severe as he is accustomed to. Generally, even a wayward shot tends to find a good lie.
Yet Colin Montgomerie, an impressive winner of the B and H last weekend and a player who rarely misses a fairway, looks at good odds at 10 to 1 to claim back-to-back titles on the European Tour and repel the invaders from America. And after his performance in the States, for each-way value it is hard to look beyond Sergio Garcia at 40 to 1.
