After a bright opening to their Leinster League campaign, Genesis will have their sternest test of the season to date when they take on leaders Old Alexandra at Milltown tomorrow. Despite losing defenders Cathy Curran and Kerry Hiles, both of whom have returned north, Alexandra have had a formidable look about them, defeating Pembroke Wanderers, Glenanne and Muckross.

On Wednesday night they were joined at the top of the table, on maximum points, by Hermes who beat Trinity 5-1 at Belfield.

Fiona Connery (ex-UCC) and Hilda Barron (ex-University of Limerick) made their debuts for Hermes and both players are in contention for places against Railway Union tomorrow but the club's third new signing, Johanna Hyland from UCC, has yet to recover from a finger injury.

Also on Wednesday night UCD picked up their first point of the season with an impressive 2-2 draw against Loreto. Ger Butler's young side (their average age is 19) now look for their first win of the campaign against Glenanne tomorrow.
