The champion jumps jockey Barry Geraghty can make hay in the new season's table with a double at Listowel today.

Paul Carberry, one of Geraghty's main rivals, faces a spell on the sidelines following his fall on Wednesday as does Tom Treacy who injured an ankle on Thursday.

Treacy should be back within a week but the Turf Club's Dr Walter Halley reported yesterday: "Paul Carberry has a severe ligament strain in his left knee. Thankfully no surgery will be necessary but we will have to see about how soon he can come back."

Geraghty meanwhile finds himself with a first rate chance on Tisrabraq in the last day festival feature, the Edmond Whelan Handicap Hurdle.

Frances Crowley's horse was a four-length second to Penny Rich on Thursday and should relish this longer trip while Geraghty's mount in the conditions chase Woodchester should be okay on the very soft ground.

The Curragh winner Creux Noir reappears with a 6lb penalty in the mile handicap but one of the three horses who finished behind him on Saturday could be a value alternative.

Golden Fact has proven course form in the soft and now has Gordon Power on his back after a number of efforts under a 10lb claimer. Ridden with more restraint than last weekend Golden Fact can go close.
