St Paul's finally came of age at Anglesea Road yesterday to end an eight-year run which has seen them fail to get past the first round. But it all came right on this momentous afternoon for the northside school with full-back Niall Glacken playing a key role in earning his side a place in the second round against CBC Monkstown at Donnybrook on Monday.

Glacken produced a great defensive display and had a hand in St Paul's opening score in the 52nd minute when he sent a long pass out to Shane Harnett who scored in the corner.

That proved to be the turning point in the game that was competitive throughout.

St Paul's pressed home their advantage and Gareth Rossi, their creative playmaker in the centre, touched down on the right with virtually the last action of the game and Glacken subsequently obliged with the conversion.
