MEN'S HOCKEY:IT WAS a busy weekend for Leinster's first division clubs, six of them had games on both Saturday and Sunday. Only Glenanne, though, were able to make it two wins out of two, beating Fingal and Corinthian.

Monkstown were Saturday’s top scorers, putting six past Three Rock Rovers at Grange Road, Jack Kirwan scoring twice and Stephen Cole, Ross Watkins, Andrew Ward, Richard Sykes getting one apiece. That win, however, was followed up by a 2-1 defeat by Pembroke Wanderers yesterday.

Having led Corinthian 3-0 on Saturday, Pembroke will feel they should have collected six points over the weekend, but a double from Davy Carson and an equaliser from Lucas Piccioli denied them.

YMCA couldn’t maintain Saturday’s scoring form when they beat Railway Union 4-1, Jonny Bruton scoring twice. They were held to a scoreless draw by Three Rock yesterday.
