MEN'S HOCKEY:GLENANNE'S STUMBLE against Pembroke means they drop down the Leinster League table, while YMCA, Pembroke and Monkstown move upwards in what is increasingly looking like a tight contest this season.

YMCA hit seven goals over the weekend in two one-sided wins, 4-0 against Clontarf on Saturday and 3-0 over the UCD students yesterday in Alexandra College. While UCD hit the bar on the whistle it was YMCA looking the sharper side. The home side were two goals up after the first quarter and after that there seemed little way UCD could reverse the momentum.

Railway Union also finally got moving with a 3-3 draw with Corinthians. Davy Carson hit two for the Whitechurch Park side with Mark English going one further for Railway in nabbing a hat-trick.

Pembroke had a 2-1 win over Glenanne with Monkstown also dishing out a 2-1 defeat to the UCD students, while Rovers hit Fingal for four goals at Grange Road.
