US TOUR:Kevin Sutherland finished with a hat-trick of birdies to set the clubhouse target of seven-under-par 65 in the first round of the AT&T Classic at TPC Sugarloaf, Georgia.
Sutherland had halves of 33 and 32 to lead by two from Stephen Marino, who shot 67, with Dicky Pride among a group of five on four-under-par 68.
CHALLENGE TOUR:Stephen Browne is tied for 46th place after a first round of level par 72, while Michael McGeady stumbled to a one-over 73 at the Telenet Trophy at the Royal Waterloo GG, Belgium.
While the Irish duo struggled, the Belgian pair of Nicolas Colsaerts and Didier De Vooght charged into a share of the lead with 65s.
EUROPRO TOUR: Only three Irish players made the cut at the Europro Tour Classic at Faithlegg GC in Waterford. Alan Murray fired a 70 for 143, while Mark Staunton, after a 69, and Brian McElhinney with a 71 are on 143.
England's Graeme Clark shot 66 for 133 to lead by two from Martin Le Mesurier, who also shot 66 in the second round.
WOMEN'S TOUR: Britain's Eleanor Pilgrim, Australia's Nikki Garrett, Germany's Bettina Hauert and Switzerland's Frederique Seeholzer shared the lead after yesterday's first round of the Swiss Open at Losone.
The quartet shot 68s to lead by one stroke from four players. Rebecca Coakley shot 75 and Claire Coughlan 76.
