Leona Maguire had prepared for her two-week Asia swing by spending time in steaming saunas, and the prep work paid dividends with a final round 64 for a 19-under-par total of 269 which gave her a share of 12th place in the Honda Thailand tournament in Chonburi, where Denmark's Nanna Koertz Madsen secured a breakthrough win on the LPGA Tour.

Madsen defeated China’s Xiyu Lin in a playoff after the pair finished on 26 under par after 72 holes, with the Dane proclaiming: “It’s a dream come true.”

For Maguire, her terrific start to the new season – having made her own breakthrough win in the Drive On Championship last month – continued: “My game is in really good shape. I felt like I played really good tee-to-green this week, just didn’t hole any putts at all the first three days; holed a few [in the final round], which was nice.”

Maguire, who was tied-13th in Singapore, will spend a few days in Ireland before returning to her base in Orlando later this week ahead of a number of events on the west coast of the USA, including the season’s first Major at the Chevron Championship.
