Leona Maguire could only manage a final round of 71 as she slipped back into a tie for 34th at the LPGA Shoprite Classic in New Jersey where Celine Boutier came out on top.
Maguire was in action for the first time since her Solheim Cup heroics which saw her come out as the top player on either side with four and a half points in Europe’s win and she looked set for a high finish after a 67 and 70 to open in Galloway but four bogeys on the back nine on Sunday saw her slip back.
Maguire reached the turn at eight under par and on the fringes of contention after an opening nine of 34 but back-to-back bogeys on the 12th and 13th and 15th and 16th saw that good work undone.
She would finish with a birdie on the 18th to get back to level par for the day and five under for the tournament, nine shots off the winning score of 14 under set by Boutier who held off Brooke Henderson, Jin Young Ko and Inbee Park to win.
