Mooney and Rawluk take first step to tour cards

Three other Irish players fail to come through the European Tour Qualifying school first stage

Northern Ireland’s Damian Mooney and David Rawluk of The Island Golf Club have come though the European Tour Qualifying School first stage at the Roxburghe in Kelson.

Mooney finished fourth behind Sweden’s Phil Eriksso, four under for his four rounds in the qualifying. Rawluk was two shots further back but safely negotiated his passage to stage two with a final three under par, 69 in the final round.

Waterville’s Mark Murphy missed out by a couple of shots after a closing round of 74 while fellow Irishmen Mark Staunton and Peter O’Keeffe also missed out on progressing.
