US commentators apologise to viewers as Lowry reacts after succumbing to Bear Trap

US television commentators had to apologise after Shane Lowry dropped an 'f-bomb' during his final round at the Honda Classic.

Lowry, who struggled to a joint 53rd place finish in Florida, fell victim to the infamous Bear Trap as he found the water on the 15th hole.

And as his tee shot headed towards the drink Lowry could be heard to say, “ye f*****g idiot,” leaving the NBC commentators forced to apologise to viewers.

Lowry went on to double bogey the hole but seemed to show little remorse for being heard using expletives, he tweeted: “So I said a bad word.... Shoot me!”
