Shane Lowry may have been well off the white-hot pace of Danny Willett in the Nedbank Chellenge at Sun City, 16 shots off to be precise, but the Offaly man’s performance in South Africa has seen him rise in the world rankings.
Lowry has jumped from 47th to 44th place, further consolidating his position in the world’s top 50 heading into the end of the season.
Meanwhile Padraig Harrington’s Indonesian Open win - his first tournament victory since 2010 - has seen him soar up the rankings. The 42-year-old now sits in 260th place after jumping up 131 spots.
Spieth’s back-to-back victories in the Australian Open and the Hero World Challenge has seen him break back into the top 10, while Danny Willett’s victory in the Nedbank has helped him leap from 84th to 56th position.
Rory McIlroy is still world number one, with Graeme McDowell in 15th.
