AEK Athens goalkeeper Dionyssis Chiotis has won a call-up to the Greece squad for the first time for next week's friendly against the Republic of Ireland.

The 26-year-old has been in impressive form in the Champions League against the likes of Real Madrid and Roma as AEK just missed out on a place in the second group stage after drawing all their six first-stage games.

He is one of three new faces in Otto Rehhagel's 21-man party for the November 20th clash with the Republic at the Apostolos Nikolaidis stadium in Athens.

The Greeks will be keen to build on their first Euro 2004 qualifying win over Armenia last month.

Rehhagel's men have made a mixed start to that campaign, losing to Spain and Ukraine before beating the Armenians 2-0 thanks to two goals from AEK star striker Demis Nikolaidis for their first points in Group Six.

Roma defender Traianos Dellas has withdrawn through injury while Giannis Amanatidis of Stuttgart and English first division club Burnley's Dimitris Papadopoulos are the other two newcomers.
