Celebrations went on long into the evening after Castlebar golf club won the Mayo County Cup after a lapse of nine years. The Castlebar players took full advantage of their new 18-hole layout to total 207 points from the best six cards. Top scorer was Pat Griffin with 38 points and the other members of the team were Jimmy Broderick, Chris Casey, Padraic Connolly, Jim McGovern, Jospeh McGowan, Stephen Munnely and Pat Staunton.

Four handicapper Griffin also won the Mayo Scratch Cup with a two over par total of 73.
