You know the way Duncan Ferguson's good in the air? Well, that's a lot more than can be said for one of his "beloved" pigeons, according to The Guardian at the weekend. It seems Big Dunc entered some of his birds in a race a few years back and waited patiently at a loft in Stirling, the finishing line for the race, for them to return. Lo and behold one of his birds was the first to come in to view but . . . it landed on the roof and refused to come down . . . and for Big Dunc to win the prize it had to land in the loft. So what did he do? He shot it, that's what he did. Shot his bird. And deposited its little body in the loft and collected first prize. Duncan? May your washing on your clothes line be drowned in pigeon droppings for the rest of your days.
