Sinisa Mihajlovic, Yugoslavia's forthright central defender, may miss this evening's big confrontation at Bruges. Mihajlovic, who came here as one of the key men in Vujadin Boskov's master plan, was suspended for their last game against Norway, and the reshaped defence fared so well in coping with the Norwegians' aerial bombardment that Boskov is now almost certain to leave well enough alone. In a fascinating climax to Group C, the Yugoslavs go into the game knowing that a second consecutive win will send them to the top of the table.
Spain, desperately in need of the points after coming undone against Norway in their opening game, again left questions unanswered in struggling home 2-1 against Slovenia. The reassuring aspect for manager Jose Antonio Camacho was that his defence looked a lot more stable, and he is likely to stick with goalkeeper Santiago Canizares, who replaced Francisco Molina on Saturday. As ever, however, the Spaniards are likely to stand or fall on the ability of Raul to rediscover the kind of genius which put the Slovenians in trouble in the first instance.
