Camogie/All-Ireland club semi-finals: Rossa of Antrim are through to their first All-Ireland club championship final on November 19th at O'Moore Park following a most exciting semi-final 3-11 to 2-11 victory over Galway champions Athenry.

A first-half goal from Maureen Stewart proved decisive for the Saffrons as they led 1-6 to 0-6 at the break, with Clare intercounty star Laura Linnane proving her worth as she totalled 0-5, three coming from frees.

Jane Adams scored 1-4 for the winners in the second half, her all-important goal coming 18 minutes into the half. That goal was in direct response to Athenry's first goal of the day two minutes earlier from Therese Maher. However, the goals continued when a minute later Gráinne Connolly scored Rossa's third.

Athenry, who were bidding for their first club final appearance since 1985, were still not finished, but alas Noreen Coen's goal came just that bit too late for the Galway side.

The second semi-final saw Lachtain's maintain their quest for a third successive title as they defeated Cashel by a point, 1-8 to 0-10, in an exciting clash at McDonagh Park, Nenagh.

A crucial goal midway through the opening half earned reigning champions Lachtain's a 1-6 to 0-6 interval lead, Kilkenny star Imelda Kennedy pouncing to fire home after Cashel goalkeeper Jovita Delaney fumbled a high delivery into the goalmouth.

Kennedy finished the day with a tally of 1-6 but although Cashel cut the deficit to just a single point they fell agonisingly short as Lachtain's remained on course for a third consecutive All-Ireland title when they face Rossa in the final later this month in Portlaoise.
