The National Junior Boxing Championship finals may provide some indication of what the future holds for the amateur game in Ireland at the National Stadium tonight when 11 titles will be decided.

The most interesting bout will the featherweight meeting of two boxers from the All Saints club in Ballymena, Gary Morrison and Dermot Hamill. The latter won a gold medal in the junior Olympics in the USA in 1996 and will be slight favourite to beat Morrisson, the beaten finalist in the National Youths in 1997.
