Padraig Harrington has climbed to sixth in the world following his British Open triumph yesterday.
The Dubliner now matches his highest ranking position having risen four places thanks to his play-off win over Sergio Garcia, who himself moves back into the top 10 at eighth.
Harrington previously held sixth place early in the 2005 season following his first US Tour victory.
The 35-year-old has also moved to the top of the European Tour Order of Merit following his dramatic Carnoustie victory.
