Graham Henry wants Wales to be represented by three regional sides in next season's Heineken Cup. The Wales coach argues for a Welsh Premier Division but instead of the top five sides going into the Heineken Cup, he argues that the the leading 90 players in the country should be employed on central contracts and divided into three teams for Europe.

Henry's plan, which he hopes would allow the Welsh to compete with the successful Irish provinces in Europe, would ease the financial pressure on leading clubs.

Llanelli, Swansea, Cardiff, Bridgend, Pontypridd and Newport - want Neath, Ebbw Vale and Caerphilly cut adrift from the professional game. They want the Welsh Rugby Union to fund six professional sides with the leading players remaining contracted to their clubs rather than the WRU.

Meetings between the two sides have been held all week.
