Gavin Peers is expected to return to the Sligo Rovers team for this evening’s meeting with Derry City at the Showgrounds, where a win would keep the hosts firmly on course for their first league title in 35 years.

Rovers could manage only a draw last week in Bray but City must look to pick themselves up after losing in the Brandywell to UCD.

Declan Devine has Simon Madden and Ryan McBride available again but must cope without suspended midfielder Barry Molloy. The City boss says another display like last week’s “will not be tolerated,” adding, “I want commitment and desire”.
