Clongowes had 10 points on the scoreboard before The High School opened their account with an Alan O'Keeffe penalty. Tommy Burns got the first of his two tries and fullback David Kearney converted. Kearney had also kicked a penalty for the winners, who led 10-3 at half-time.
The Clongowes scrumhalf Michael McLoughlin got the second try, 10 minutes into the second half, and High School felt the absence of two of their front row when Ross Hanan succumbed to an ankle injury and Tony Lee left the field temporarily with a blood injury.
Conor Spellman resumed the scoring with a try in the corner for the Co Kildare school.
Kearney did well to convert a difficult penalty in the 47th minute and Burns had the final say with a pushover try.
