The Highfield Club in Co Kildare will stage its first pro-am on Sunday week. The course only opened six years ago and club President Ciaran Duggan reckons that it is now ready to stage such an event. "It's maturing nicely and we're very happy with it this year," he said.

A Wild West theme will run through the day with a Barbecue and musical entertainment rounding off the evening. Appropriately enough there will a shotgun start with the amateurs contesting a rumble event alongside the pros.
