Romario's in trouble (again) - this time for giving the two fingers to his own Flamengo fans, after scoring twice against Argentina's Velez Sarsfield in the Copa Mercosur at the famous Maracana stadium last week. (Seems the fans don't believe he's `doing the business' for the team these days). If the incident proved anything, though, it was that there's nothing wrong with Romario's eyesight. He might have been a bit off target in recent games for the club but at least he was able to locate the Flamengo fans in the stadium - only 396 of them turned up to see the match, in a stadium where the record attendance is over 200,000. Let's just say the Copa Mercosur, in which the top clubs from Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile take part by invitation, has proved less than popular with South American football fans.

[SBX] BBC presenter Ray Stubbs had a busy night in France last week, where Blackburn were playing Lyon in the second leg of their first round UEFA Cup tie. Ray was wandering around Lyon's ground, in the build-up to the game (which was being shown live on the Beeb), when he spotted a Channel 5 advertising hoarding, which read: "BBC viewers . . . Liverpool live on 5 now" (in reference to the channel's simultaneous live coverage of Liverpool's game against Kosice). So what did Ray do? He removed the hoarding (after the Beeb had consulted with the powers-that-be in London) and now faces legal action by an unamused Channel 5. Ray now faces a spell in Wormwood Scrubs.
