Colombian World Cup goalkeeper Rene Higuita was held by police for several hours for possession of a firearm in Medellin yesterday.
According to police, Higuita, whose outfield antics contributed to Colombia's 1990 World Cup finals second round defeat to Cameroon, was riding around on a motorcycle with a loaded gun.
The former Real Valladolid striker was arrested, but, after producing documents showing he was the owner of the weapon, was released after several hours in custody.
