Craobh Chiarain ... 2-10 Ballyboden St Enda's ... 1-13Craobh Chiarain and Ballyboden St Enda's were inseparable in the second of the weekend's Dublin senior hurling championship semi-finals at Parnell Park last night.
In a spirited and pulsating match, Craobh Chiarain started faster and built up a 1-4 to 0-1 lead with less than 10 minutes on the clock, thanks to two points from Connie Ring and a kicked goal from corner forward Ger Ennis.
Ballyboden finished the half stronger and the scores were level at the break 0-9 to 1-6.
The south Dublin club started the second half by taking the lead for the first time with an Emmet Carroll point. This was quickly cancelled out when David Keane got his stick to a long ball into the Ballyboden square and found the net.
Martin Kenny contributed seven points for Ballyboden and his frees kept the visitors in the game at vital times in the second half when they were struggling in other areas of the field.
Ballyboden half forward Gary Maguire brought the sides level once again with a goal similar to Keane's minutes before and Stephen McDonnell must have thought he had won it for Craobh Chiarain with a superb point in injury time but Stephen Hiney's point in the third minute of overtime ensured that Ballyboden would get another chance.
