Coláiste Iognáid 34 Calasanctius College 8WINGER ANTHONY O'Loughlin guided holders Coláiste Iognáid safely through to the semi-finals of the Connacht Schools' Senior Cup with a comprehensive win at Newcastle yesterday.
He crowned a fine display with a try in addition to a further nine points with the boot.
O’Loughlin also had a hand in most of The Jes’ other four tries, two of which were scored by centre Eoin Griffin in either half.
Colin Conroy and Damien McDonough were the other try-scorers for the champions, who led by 15-3 at the interval having played against the wind.
Calasanctius had an early boost with a Jonathan Daly penalty, but they were on the back foot for long periods.
Nevertheless, winger Seán Mannion got one of the scores of the match when he touched down in the right corner 10 minutes from time.
